THE MANSION
BED & BREAKFAST
|
The house was built in C1770 and belonged to the Wordsworth family, being the home for a while to the famous William Wordsworth as a young man. Built slightly after Whitehaven's heyday when the port thrived on Tobacco, Rum, Slaves and Smuggling. The house has splendid views over the Solway to Scotland and the western fells of the Lake District. The house has twelve bedrooms, ten of which are en-suite (there is a no smoking policy in the bedrooms) one lounge including a 55" T.V. There is also a Sauna and Hot Tub and swimming pool for the guests' enjoyment and relaxation - particularly handy after those days on the fells or after a cycle ride. There is an outside sundeck to the rear of the house and also a large off street car park.
There is a large collection of videos, dvd’s, cd's, tapes, vinyl’s and books, should the visitors simply wish to chill out if the weather is unkind. |
